Fat Fingers and Frame Rate

I am running a stout set up for video that produced avg of 64 fps before patch 5.  Now, no matter what I do with video settings in the front of the game, I get 19 fps.  Period.  Not 18, not 20, I get 19 fps.

Is there an unpublished key combination that sets the FPS max at some unpublished level?  The reason I ask is because of Ripsnort.  In practice the other night he had all of us jumping around our cockpits like crazy monkeys (too much fuel and ord and getting off a carrier)and I may have mashed something?  He broke my 'puter maybe?

I have reloaded the game, I have reloaded directX 8.1  My network stats are very good.  I'm getting great performance out of my equipment in other games.  What the L is happening?

If anybody else is interested...

I nuked the Nvidia device driver with their Destroyer utility and then reloaded the Detonator reference driver.

Back up to 64fps.

It doesn't help, but it looks purty.

I suck.  Nothing will help that.
