My own look at me thread
« on: December 06, 2006, 09:24:25 AM »
Well another look at me tread anyways,

The cable guy is coming later on today and I may lose my internet connection for a few days. As I am leaving for boot camp next tuesday Im going to post this ahead of time just in case.

Ladies and gentlemen its been a great few years. Ive caused trouble and had fun. Ive met some people on here and in game that I consider good friends now. I hope to return in the near future. But if not Id like to thank everyone for helping me waste so many hours I could have spent outside sitting here and playing a game or making fun of one another in the O'Club.

Thankyou HTC for creating such a great game that allows a community such as this to form. Even with all our low points we still have a few positives. No matter how much I complain about a change to the game or what I want to change I still believe it is one above the rest. Im sorry I was a freeloader for a mjority of my time spent here. Money problems and computer problems made it difficult to play.

Best of luck buddy.  Just remember, boot camp is SUPPOSED to suck.  It gets better.  Just one word of advice....AH doesn't really count when the war stories start flying!

Go Slugs!
In addition, the cable guy being on time is almost as likely as the Stanley Cup in your avatar ever showing up in the Sabres locker room......

good luck Blue and like Mace said, Basic training is supposed to suc.  especially the first couple of days.  I still remember our shake down by the TI's.  Bring very little with you,  if you need it they'll issue it to you, if they dont issue it to you they'll give you pay to go buy it.  Just remember to keep your mouth shut and listen to what the instructors say.  I guarantee you they will tell you everything you need to know.    and basic training isn't just about an individual effort, its about working together with your fellow trainees, so that everyone completes basic.  The first couple of weeks are going to be rough, try to have fun with it ;)

Thankyou guys. Im more then ready for it. For the most part I know what is coming and I know most of what Im supposed to know. Im going in as a E-3, so theres a good chance I'll have a leadership position. Cant be any harder then being in charge of 70 teenagers. :p

:lol  you'll be suprised.   I remember a guy in our basic training flight, 23 years old, college degree.  He couldnt walk/march in step,  couldnt hang a pair of pants on a hanger (they always fell off), couldnt tie a knot to hang his laundry bag.  He was in my squad, me and another guy spent about a week and half workin with him.  then one day they pulled him from the flight while we were waiting for chow and we never saw him again.  We always said they sent him to OTS to be an officer :lol

Going in as E-3 don't mean crap in Basic, you're just another recruit in a sea of recruits. Only thing that'll help is if you have prior Military service. College, JROTC, Law Enforcement, they couldn't care less.

My impression of Basic was that its just like the outside world- the more you suck up, take credit for other peoples work and pawn off your failures on those around you, the better you'll do.

And never include the words "my recruiter said" in a sentance. :lol
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

I don't know what service you were in (Air Force?), but I certainly didn't go to Jerkoff Boot Camp.

Edit: Ah, Army.

Army. Lets just say we had a few guys in my Company with the "My Daddy is a Colonel" syndrome.

blue,

if you're going into the army chances are you will be made a squad ldr. you'll probaly be in charge of -12 idiots and you will have to answer to your drill sgt. for their f ups.
the only thing that sucked about basic was the new hours you will keep. everything else will be a gradual climb. just keep up.
of course it may have changed some in 27 years.lol

                            DONT VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING

                                              <<>>
