Were you using another joystick in the game before you now are trying this one.
If so try deleting stick.cfg which is located in your aceshigh/settings folder.
Then run the game.

Or uninstall aceshigh, then manually remove the HTC folder left on your hard drive.

Make sure the sidewinder is working ok.

Then reinstall AH.

Good Luck

You're not saying the force feedback doesn't work are you?...because FF is not implemented yet in AH.

If you mean there is no control or input from the stick then make sure everything is working fine in Windows 98:
Go to Control Panel, Game Controllers.  On the General Tab the stick type should be displayed and the status should say OK.  When you click Properties, test the functions from the Test tab.  Make sure no profile is active (at bottom).  Click OK.  Click the Advanced tab.  Your stick should be ID 1.  Make sure the correct port is selected.  Clear the poll with interrupts box.  Click OK.

If everything checks out go into AH Setup, click Select Joystick.  Highlight your stick which should be displayed under Joystick.  As you highlight each function in the lefthand column AH Control, a corresponding
input in the righthand column Joystick Input should become highlighted.
