Suggestion for the Lobby
« on: December 07, 2006, 11:39:21 AM »
Could we make a place to leave a message in the Lobby to let friends know we are on and where we are?

There are several people we like to fly with from other squads, but we have no way of finding them unless we wander through several arenas.

A roster of everyone in all the arenas would work also.  It should show squad and arena.

That would be nice.

I think a global roster for all the arenas is good enough.

I don't know, a BBS in the Lobby?  At least we'd get a broader group than on this BBS.

They didn't have Post-It notes then, but maybe a single line of text on a 'sheet of paper' stuck on the wall?
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

Another suggestion would be an arena map list.

AWIII used to have this cool little feature in the OC where you could upload a mission for your squad. Used to work great for squad nights. One member would create a mission off line and then upload the thing prior to squad night. When anyone from the squad logged they could download the mission and were ready to roll. The mission also kept the way points on the map after launch, I would love to see that happen. Keeps us old guys with bad memories on the right route to the target.

I thought this was going to be an open bar thread.....

   []D ==--------

Find command   (".f name") does work in the Lobby....providing you don't crash or freeze up in the Lobby.

Squad roster command works in the lobby as well, afaik, and in game, will list squaddies hiding in the lobby as well.

Id have to ".f xxxx" 15 people to locate 1 that is one line.  A nice global roster would work.

I also like the idea of knowing what map is in each arena.  It would influence where I logged into.
