LW Orange Rooks Numbers

HiTech,

Seems like Rooks have found a new home in the LW Orange arena. Or like business as usual from the old days with 2 or 3 to 1 Rooks vs the map. You earlier stated a concern about player happiness vs game play. I think the Rooks are sending you a message that they think they have more control over the game than you do.

At present Rook numbers in Orange arena dictate Rooks own the map based on your new system. I beleive in Aces High, so I cannot beleive the members of a country could decide your decisions about game play are null and irrelivant. Other wise I'm thinking changing country may be better for my fun factor  than my CO's Nomde's decision this month to stay Knight.

You can sensor me for this and I will understnsd, or,,, is there a solution from the management side to rein in the Rook answer to your latest game play direction????

I think players can effect the game in responce to your decisions as a childish slap against you. But the rest of us suffer for our $14.95 token a month in the face of their judicial userpation of the games over all attraction!!!!!!!!!

HiTech I assum you have played as a member of each country with a rotation for the previous several weeks to experience this frustration. As always I defer to your judgement and offer my account as forfeit if I have offended yourself or this community. I understand If I have exceeded my position as a member of this unique community.

I thank you for the oportunity to take part in your vision.

My respects and willingness to leave if I have offended you.

Ya know Bstr,

I've given all this some thought. The only way that comes to mind  to limit the effectiveness of a horde would be to artificially limit the number of airfields or vehicle bases that a country could capture within a certain time frame.

Example: Your country has just captured an airfield Now it has to wait an hour before you can launch an attack on another. There would be, in this case, an hour lag minimum. Under these circumstances a horde would not be an advantage. The members of said country could of course defend their bases to their hearts content.

This is all I can think of but there are aspects of gameplay that I have'nt an inkling about so my idea may be all wet.

Personaly, I beleive you posted in a respectful, non offensive way so I don't see why you would get any negative reprocusions from what you have stated.

See ya in the skies mate :)

can always go to the LW blue arena where rooks are outnumbered....ive been in there last 2 nights where bish had 100, knits 75 and rooks 40-50.  got to LW orange and its Rooks 100, knits 75 and bish 40-50.

So...is it just the rooks?

The numbers have been that last two nights i logged in.  the later in the night it gets...numbers go up on each side...but same type of imbalance in each arena still exist.

but yea...its the rooks that are saying we have control.
Karma, it follows you every where you go...

It's the Rooks in Orange.  But it's just a name.  Same thing in the others under another chess piece no doubt.

Just left Orange where I was flying Bish since they were low.  50 Bish, 97 Rooks.

At a certain point it just gets painful upping into that mess.

But so it goes.

It's not related to chess pieces so much as players, but, regardless of the arena, or the icon, or the capture setup, I think it blows.

On the bright side, I got a good laugh out of "Bode" complaining at length about "ENY sucks", and "your lucky were stuck with BS planes" [sic]. At the time, The bish and knits were fielding, combined, less than 10 players more than the rooks- something like 56 bish, 49 knits, and 100 rooks. Yeah, it must suck to be a rook. :lol

theres 2 wars on.......

.....if you dont like 1 war, you leave and go to the other war.

and before anyone goes nuts.... look at offpeak when only 1 server is active. numbers are pretty much balanced, and stay balanced untill people are forced into 2nd server. And also, if you add up BOTH LW's during peak, the numbers are also balanced..

this is one of many issues caused by the 9/13 changes. :o  yet nothing has been fixed by them.:noid :(

cycle goes like this:
• balanced server during day
 • 2nd server opens.
 • whoever is loosing in server1, goes server2. (in this example/thread rooks)
 • as rooks leave server1, there numbers over inflate in server2, and drop drastically in server1.
 • as knits and bish in server2 are now both facing silly odds against rooks, they leave to goto server1.
 • before you know it server1 is 120:120:60 and server2 is 60:60:120.
 •
I did do alot of "picking" yesterday as a low numbered Rook in LWB , a few of us defended what we could in the south from the Bish but most were up north fighting . I stayed for 8 hours till we lost Dar , 262's were then 120 perks falling .

Oh ya , BUT WE DID HAVE V46 yet , WTG :rofl :rofl :rofl :furious :rofl

If your a Bish your better off in LWB coz you have a huge hoard in there, If your a Rook go into LWO and you have huge numbers in there, the fact is chaps aslong as we all get to choose what arena we can fly in and what side we fly for there is always going to be some sort of unbalance.

If there was say a late war green arena aswell as blue and orange no doubt the Knights would Hoard that arena.

Blue = Bish
Orange= Rooks only because Blue is full.
Green = Knights

All i can say is bring back the old MA.

crazy idea
« Reply #11 on: December 10, 2006, 05:15:28 PM »
It's nice to see those stats on numbers, I had said day one that dividing the arenas would jus cause some countries to lean heavy in certain arenas.  Now thats its reality and everything's screwed up and everyones unhappy about some aspect of these changes, let's try this......

1) Bring MA back.  Let this be where everything goes like the old days.  Have the other arenas on the side for trying all these "experiments".  It seems the customers have to change video cards and upgrade RAM on a constant basis, so why doesn't HTC upgrade to handle the numbers of MA.

If you HAVE to divide it then...

2)Change the 4 arenas to the 4 fronts: BoB, US in Europe, US in Pacific, and Russian front.  Now it doesn't matter what country your in cause now your fighting for that arenas country (kinda what they're tryin to do, but this might be a better way to do that). Now you got friend Vs. friend havin fun in 190 v p51 dogfight...this would also do away with the Allied v Axis arena as it would all be AvA.

Some mixture of both would be ideal since old timers are already used to the Free For All of MA.  But ALL of us first try AHII because we wanted to dogfight a P51 vs 190... a f4u vs Zero...a Spit vs a 109...a mass B-17 raid.......We ended up havin La' vs spits. hurri's vs pony's, 109 vs 190,etc etc. Between all the mixing of planes and all the "creative" rules,  its jus turned to mush.

I am a rook & flew in LW orange because the Blue arena was full. Later one of my squadies in blue texed me & said there was an opening in blue so I went in there where the rooks were out numbered. I flew orange initially because the other arena was capped.

The numbers in either arena didn't matter to me. I just flew where I had to untill a spot opened up so I could fly with my squad. I suspect it was the same for others as well.

people should try flying with the chess piece with lesser numbers.. it might actually help them get good at the game.. i dont see any other reason to play a game imo other than to get good at it.. unfortunately others feel squeeking on vox gloating about helping their 10 buddies kill a low con is what its all about.. but hey its their daddy's 15bucks not mine so who am i to complain..
