BB' shades.
« on: December 13, 2006, 02:13:28 PM »
I would like to take a moment , and ask the AH BBS community as a whole, to please remember that it is generally considered in bad form to post in shades. Many people will have their ingame CPID listed on their signature if they use a different nom-de-guerre in here.

P.S: If you are posting as a shade because you've been PNG'd here, Do the right thing, and quit posting. You were PNG'd for a reason.

To HTC and Crew: No, normally I would'nt back seat moderate, or overstep my authority in any other way. But this crap's getting old.

     Thank You.

I haven't been playing Aces High long enough to know who everyone is and is not.  However, I see a lot of names in the forum I never see in the game.  I suspect that veteran players have a pretty good idea who everyone is.  I often do not know who people are and on occasion recognize someone in the game from the forum here because they are using the same handle or screen name in both places.

People that no longer play the game, or have never played the game are able to post in the forum here.  Sometimes people have family members who post as well or other people that have tried the game on the trial basis and are waiting to decide if they wish to purchase a subscription.  I suppose that not everyone who posts in the forum actually plays the game itself.

Yup and other games give Non-subs limited access to their BBS.
Their reason for that is they don't want to deal with the shade crap that we get here.

I'll never understand why HTC doesn't do the same. Give the non-subs access to Tech forums , Oclub and H2H parts.

My wife plays a game called "The Sims 2" and in that game the registration username has to be used when participating in the forum, or BBS, whichever you prefer to refer to it as.  Since she bought the game on Ebay, she is forced to use the registration name that the former owner created.  That username just happens to be based on the name of a popular teen idle, which makes it nearly impossible for anyone to take what she posts in the forums seriously.  It is actually very entertaining to me when I think about it.  Fortunately, she has little use for the Sims 2 forum in a posting capacity anyway.
