Met a Nazi Today...
« on: December 14, 2006, 09:45:06 PM »
So my friend is in AA and is sponsoring a young kid who is also in the program...  They stopped by tonight on their way back to their neck of the woods for a cigarette or two...

We got talking about this and that, and eventually the topic came up about how I'm a history major...  We start discussing WW2 and the kid says "Hey, check this out."  He lifts up his shirt and shows me the tattoo on his back.  Iron Cross with a skull and SS lightning bolts.

The kid's 15.

I dunno.  It just really rocked me.  What a complete, total, disgraceful failure of society as a whole...  It takes a village and all and look what turned up...  It's shameful...  His history teachers have completely failed him...

I gave him a good chewing out...  I basically told him, "yeah, you're young, and you're stupid, and you're impressionable, and you've found this 'great' speaker, you've found all the symmetry and the power colors and the nationalistic pride and such...  And you fell for it head over heels...  But one day, hopefully, you're going to realize what an idiot you are...  Be careful, you play with fire" and all that...

It's pretty depressing.

Kind of a pointless post, I suppose.  But I just found it interesting that kids like him are still popping up.  And I have to wonder what the hell went wrong.

Should have told him that if he was so proud of his tattoo, and truely believed in what it stood for, then he should take a ride to Hartford, Bridgeport or New Haven and walk down the middle of Main Street at 2 am shirtless... =)

I doubt he's a real Nazi. Probably doesnt even know what the symbols mean. Like a lot of the tardboys with pentagrams, they arent really devil worshippers, they just do it to be as anti-social as they can be. They all know the social "buttons" to push. Get a swastika, get a SS symbol, get a .

...Doesnt make it any less depressing though, so many young people seem angry and without any real sense of direction.

not always true warloc!  alot of the time, kids will take on these bizzare affections not just to be actively anti-social to other humans, but to be 'different'.

the desire to not follow the sheep's path is strongest in children, and in a world bent wrong on consumer madness and stereotyped lifestyles, often the young rebel may find no other directions to turn than the most offensive and shocking just to get people to notice that he/she is 'not like the rest of you'.

this kid is 15, and already a member of an AA group. his life has obviously been far from normal.

before he got that tattoo, i wonder how many people took the time to know him well enough, and therefore be able to nurture his unique mind onto a path that would benefit him and others.  nah, they probably just beat him, told him he was stupid, then never even noticed when he started sneaking out at night and hanging around in a gang with other non-conformists.

once you have a gang of these youths, it only takes the most respected and feared of them to swing the whole group in a certain direction. If said 'leader of the pack' decides that the gang of 10 are going to be nazis.....

lol i thought he meant an alcoholics group, what with sponsering and that. I had a family memeber beat the drink in AA and when she started she had a 'sponser' who looked after her. in the end she did the same for a new member.

The chances that this kid makes enough of himself to make any sort of lasting negative impact on this world are neglible. The chances that he has and will get the piss beaten out of him, repeatedly, and wind up in prison are high. He is more than likely to do more damage to himself than to anyone else. Thankfully, he is a member of a small and highly disfavored minority. He is his own worst enemy, and a tragedy to his family. Otherwise, a sad little statistic of which the world will take little notice.

It's the people without the tattoos, the people with the brains and the calculated hatred that are scary.

ive met a few in my time .. and they are a total joke ... the worst part is they promote racism and the im better then you BS,you dont deserve to live,  and try to create as much chaos as possiable for no real reason ...

just ask him why do you hate other races/colours ect .. that ussually leads them into steping over there own tongue  fairly quick .

hopefully after that you can teach him some insite into the real world ... colour, race, religion, political preference  just doesnt matter were all here to coesist with each other ...

as my Dad taught me "Do you really think the Black cow cares that the white cow is white or visa versa ? "  (Roo family philosophy 101)

Former Nazis or just former members of the Wermacht? I'm assuming that not all of them bought into the ideology.
