Been Gone 4 to 5 years
« on: December 15, 2006, 10:57:25 AM »
Hello everyone,

As the subject states I've been gone for over 4 years use to fly with "MOL", thinking of giving AH another try I am checking to see if anything has changed in the game.

1. Infantry available?
2. Any new Jets?
3. What is new in the game?

Best regards to all and happy holidays,

SpyCat

A shout out to all former and current MOL members "miss you guys"!

Would it be accurate to state that you have been gone approximately 4.5 years?

answers to your questions:

1. Infantry available? No

2. Any new Jets? Depends..what was available 4.5 years ago?
currently we have Me163, Me262 and the Arado Bomber

3. What is new in the game? Lots of stuff :)

Do not be mislead, the game and the bulk of this community are in good health.

we have 10 man Special Forces squads that we can employ to attack and capture strategic interests.  And and.......and we can actually bail out of our machines and attack on foot using our trusty sidearms.

I must admit I am disappointed, AH appearers to have not made any significant strides in over 4 years (I'm sure better code).

Oh well.... :furious

Indeed. AH will never be a first-person-shooter. It just won't.

However, you will find that while there have been many planes added, the functionality of the game hasn't changed *that* much. The application of it has. There have been major major flight engine changes (which you might not notice, baving been gone so long).

Only recently has all the "experimental" arena settings been initiated by HTC. Doesn't seem like most like the changes. Well that's neither here nor there, but in reply to the "in good health" comment.

Gameplay is still there, but it's being hampered at times.

If you've been gone 4 and a half years, you'll need to re-learn how to fly and fight, because it's not at all like AH1 used to be.

I was hoping after 4 years AH would have closed the gap then over taken WW2 online. I guess its not in their plans to move forward, more to maintain upon what they have in place.  :O

Thank you for replying hope to see y'all in the online make-believe world some day.

:cry :cry

PS: Is AH compatible with Vista? I may give it a try I have next week off.:aok

WW2OL is a joke in almost every sense of the word when you consider the "flight" model it has. AH is light years past that level of simplicity. You want to fly? Play AH. You want to play soldier? Play HALO or HL2 or COD (I hated COD2, I'd not recommend it) or FEAR.

I was into BF2 until the cheating got out of control.

How big is the playing community these days?

Hiya Spycat! :)  Has been a long time.

"I must admit I am disappointed, AH appearers to have not made any significant strides in over 4 years (I'm sure better code)."

Ditto.  At the core there's not a lot of difference between AH and AH-II.  Sure there's some improvement but the online game play got worse as the player base expanded.

AH-II was not a leap over the original AH which was a huge jump over (IMO of course) games/sims such as FA, WB 2 and AW III.

Perhaps HTC's "Combat Theater" will be.

 Someday?

Several thousands. Hitech and staff have the numbers, but they aren't telling. I'm guessing 6-8k subscribers. :)
