Red Screen of death

Hi:

Ive noted a bad problem with AH. When I asked about it on general com about 10 people replied with a similar problem.

I call it the "red screen of death" RSoD for short.

What happens:

Pulling positive or negative G's, the screen will turn bright solid red. The sounds will continue but the FE actually freezes. When this occurs your plane will never crash.

The only way to exit the RSoD is to eject. Once ejected, you can see the the sky but no cockpit. The FE is frozen and you must reboot.

Very annoying. Its not consistent but intermittent.

Thanks for you assistance regarding this problem.

K1, you still getting this problem?  What's your system specs and what version of Direct X and Windoze do you have?

Ya know,
My buddy has this same problem at times...

I've put myself in charge of locating this "bug" and fixing it.

I've been searching and found a number of encrypt/unencrypt software to tinker with.

I came across a uv program which'll do the job...only if i can give the srce encrypt. software and vers.

Which brings me to THE query... what software is used to encrypt AH filez which are kept in your pc???

All replys welcome. Will update when done.

Well, I am surprised of no replies to this thread since I know of a few others that had this problem...
My first suggestion would be do try first running AH in 16 bit mode, no Z-buffering or anything 'toggled', try 800X600 first.  If you still get the red screen death at this setting, then we can eliminate your video card from the scenario as a possible culprit.

Another suggestion would be to search for DX8 in this forum, read the threads.  I'm still running DX7.0a.

Well, the latest patch fixed some OTHER problems.

But now I get the occational RED SCREEN OF DEATH (insert organ music)

Once in a blue moon the screen goes red and all I can do is bail out and type on the radio. Can't see anything, (except when I bail ieverything goes blue.) Can't [esc] to the control panel, but I can type on the radio. Tried fiddling with graphics settings, tried lower res. Nada, still happens.

Running a GeForce with Dx7. Plenty of memory, etc. etc.
