A great man and a true leader has left his post with honor. He will be missed.

I have always admired Rumsfeld, but I believe he was not in the right place at the right time.  Historically his tenure as DefSec during the Bush admin will likely be viewed as a series of bold minor successes overshadowed by a single  complex failure.

to the man for his service.

Greetings,

Actually, I know a few ppl who disliked his running of the dept.  But then, he did step on a few toes that needed to be stepped on.

I would be glad to discuss trp strength vrs organization off line.  But he did mean well and lead the dept well.  Gotta love a Sec. of Def that show up out side the Pentagon and helps carry the wounded.  At a min, he didn't run and didn't hide.

Regards,

Greetings,

Sorry RPM (dispite your taste in scotch! :)  )  He was a leader and left with honor.  Whether you like him or not, he led with dignity and resolve.

rummy, nuke, storch

Rummy's decision to do the occupation of Iraq on the cheap (and the results of that decision), despite the warnings of the US military will be admired as strategic genius for generations to come.  He is truly covered in glory.

Also, he is sheathed in honour the way only a man you advocates the use of torture can be.

I would also like to congratulate you nuke on doing a good job.  I'm not sure what job storch is referring to, but there you have it.

And good job storch on pointing out nuke's good job.

nuke, storch, Sandy, MWL

Sorry, no way can I salute Rummy. I can't even point out a good job by him. But, you don't go to war with the SecDef you want, you go to war with the SecDef you have.
