Roger Wilco send Aces High to Desktop Death
« on: December 04, 2000, 10:28:00 PM »
I cannot run RW wit AH without RW sending AH
to the taskbar. Whan I then try to open AH from the taskbar AH closes...POOF!
In desperation I had to remove RW (Resounding file) so AH would boot up , then I closed RW in the set-up for AH.
I have tried opening RW first then AH but because I don't have it enabled it the set-up I can't use it.(unless everyone tunes to me)
I installed a new riva tnt2 32meg video card a few weeks ago but everthing seemed fine untill last weekend.

I think it's normal that AH goes to the taskbar if RW is enabled..that's what mine does.

As for your problem when you click on AH in the taskbar, are you sure you have the latest version of RW?  Apparently there were problems with some earlier versions.

Had the same problem sometime back. Check the following:

1. The "latest" version of RW. (may need to reinstall RW)

2. At least DX7a. (haven't tried DX8 yet)

Hope this helps...The reinstall of latest RW did the trick for me.

Also as for AH closing once you try to reopen it after it minimizes, check your video card drivers.  I've had this problem twice now and each time, I fixed it by upgrading my video card drivers.

My card is an Elsa Erazor X2 32MB.  I had to load the latest revision of those drivers to fix it...the reference NVIDIA drivers that were recomended to me for some game or other caused AH to close when I tried to maximize it.
