.i seem to recall there being defensive bunker positions for tanks on the fields at one point...whatever happened to those?  (or was i just imagining them?)

I have seen them on only on Karelia. Are you sure we ever had any in the MA? I honestly don't remember them.

They were there in AH1. Back when the tower was on a little hill at the V-bases.

There were small tank bunkers that were introduced with AHII. There were no bunkers of any sort that weren't part of the strat in AHI. If you look just at the Wishlist you'll find a bunch of threads asking where these went.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

Whatever happened to the tunnels some maps used to have also.

P.S. and the Sheep disappeared many moons ago.

Yes the tunnels and the tank bunkers went away at the same time and I realy miss them:cry ... some of the best defensive spots for gv's.. :)

when the terrain was updated to  the new system the tunnels and the tank traps{bunkers} dissapeared,ppity was good to see planes auger trying to get in the tunnels,and the  tanks could hide hull down for extra protection

Would be neat if vehicles could "dig in" vitually anywhere (except concrete)

Basically a period of # secs where an earth work  is built around a stationary  tanks position and a camo tent is drapped  over the top.

Equally when you want to move it takes # secs to take it all down and you have to reverse out.  Later (like a bomb crater) it just dissapears.

I really thought those were in AH1 and didnt make it to AH2.:huh
