Interesting footage.

I hate to be critical But isnt it an age old addage that is best to be the one that holds the high ground?

Just seems foolish to me to have your base being overlooked by mountains

Dude, that has been around a couple years.

And that website has a nasty spyware attacking when you click on it.

Probably didn't notice the spyware since you're system is already infested with it.

As far as the "high ground" bit is concerned, that is a general truism not an absolute. It depends on what the rest of the terrain is and what the mission or goal is. You can have the high ground but if the goal is to control a river ford or bridge for example and it's out of direct fire range you aren't really controlling it. You control what you occupy, not necessarily what you can just see.

Mortars are ver usefull and can fire over hills as well as onto the back side of them. You don't need to have them on a hill top to use them. Owning the hill top will definitely make your forward observer and indirect fire  more accurate however.

dunno bout that.
checking 3 seperate systems with the exaxct same security setups. All 3 went tot he same site within minutes of eachothers. So far this machine showed nothing. One other machine showed spyware. but I suspect its from another site. And Im waiting on the results on the last machine.

so far I've found some cookies on all 3 but nothing particularly heinous or out of the norm

Ok two of the 3 machines including this one came back relitively clean.

The one that did have something wasnt this one and seems to have picked it up several days ago on the 14th.

Dunno what to tell ya. if it was that site. These machines didnt get it

Unless Dagos security is picking up something mine isnt. Which is why I asked what he was running.

I noticed that just because your AV and anti Spyware isnt picking somehting up. Doesnt mean you dont have something.
It just means that that program isnt or might not be picking it up.

I Noticed that none are perfect. So Ill run a couple.
Highjack this and AVG seemt o be about the best.
But each picks up somethig the other missed

(Many people confuse cookies, which are technically spyware, for a malicious thins such as adware and malware)

Errr no. I have good spyware protection and detected nothing. Unless you're panicking over a cookie. What antispyware do you use? I think its lying to you.

I like AVG
Helped me get rid of a bug a while back one of my daughters friends was kind enough to get me infected with.  That not only didnt my Antivirus pick up but I couldnt get rid of with anything else. Even in Safe mode  Including Adaware, Highjack this, and Spybot S&D.

And just today a kernels88.exe trojan that Antivirus didnt even see on the machine that had something.

Like I said before I noticed that no 1 program seems to find or get everything

Notice AVG has a high rate of false positives. So those "AVG found a virus when xxx didn't" don't mean much.

Comes up everytime I click on that link.   Maybe anyone not getting an alert has the alerts turned off?

Err. No.

It is NOT blocking spyware, it is blocking a link to a website "associated" with spyware. Read the warning, now read it again, now read it again.

rotator.adalert.c*m does seem to hand a cookie through and thats about it from what I can tell.
