A bit of AH P38 nostalgia
« on: December 18, 2006, 02:39:31 PM »
Finally moved AH1 from the old comp to the new.  Got myself wandering through the films and found one of my son and I out in 38s.  As some of you know I lost my son in August 2005 in a car wreck.

He was the first 38 fan in the family as he flew it in AW when you couldn't get me out of a Spit :)

Anyway, I kinda liked the look of this from November 2003.  Following my boy out on the prowl in a couple of P38Ls.  Kinda gloomy under those clouds.

He was too good though.  He never could auger like the old man :)

Back in AH1  u could literally hide in the clouds!  Some were very thick and took up some alt!

Dan,
Thanks for sharing brother. I know things like that have to evoke very strong emotions.

Wow - we had beaches back then instead of the saw-tooth coastlines of AHII?  I never realized it until I saw this pic.
I do remember flying in IFR type conditions and using the radar to drop down out of the clouds on the unsuspecting red dots - that was kinda cool.
I remember one day when HT or someone was fooling around with cloud settings and the whole MA was socked in for awhile - you could hear other vehicles but couldn't see them.

That is a cool pic. :aok

Just noticed I have the AH114 installer on this box. Now if only I could get my AH1 box to boot up, where all my stuff now lies.

Nice picture guppy thanks for sharing. I remember those clouds in ah1 I had so much fun chasing planes into them and getting roped in them I was such a noob.
When I die bury me in a P38.

I watch day after day, week after week, tour after tour, the Bishops and Rooks take bases and win maps while the Knights stand there with their thumbs stuck in their butts. It's just pathetic!
