3rd LW Arena for Knights
« on: December 18, 2006, 07:14:49 PM »
HiTech,

In the interest of fair play which seems to be part of what has driven some of your arena changes of late. Please create a 3rd LW arena which the Knights can dominate. It may only be me, but it does seem like I have only 2 choices in LW arena play.

1. Get hoarded at alt by Rooks.
2. Get hoarded on the deck by Bishops.

Sadly this is very telling on the Knights general game play ability in terms of group dynamics. But, if you created a 3rd LW arena, chances are the Knights would either dominate it, or a smaller number of players would play in it from all 3 sides in more even numbers.

If this were a War where I could loose my life I would want my side to have thousands to one in numbers. This being a War game, it seems the ability to dominate the other 2 countires during a large portion of prime time play is out of balance to what HTC is attempting to provide for everyone's $14.95 a month.

When there was a single MA, the obvious impact to the general game play environement by a super majority could not be ignored nor avoided other than by logging off, changing sides, or at the worst canceling your subscription. With multiple MA arena's the chess peices simply percipitate out to the arena they first dominate each day. At the moment the Knights chess peices seem to not percipitate very well and come up on the short end of things.

Or maybe they just need their own arena to percipitate out to last each day. Two LW arena is exposing the nature of average humans to want membership in a winning herd at any cost. Three may possibly expose this more rediculously by LW arenas turning into chess peice hoard arenas.

Since the game play has evolved to super hoarding, I'm requesting you make it fair for all 3 chess peices.

This is not a war game. It is a WW2 flight sim.

I was in LW blue tonight.  Bish (us) 100, Rooks 140+, Knights 140+.  No fight between Rooks and Knights who were both ganging Bish at almost 3-1 odds.  Didn't seem like a big problem for Knights to me.

BTW, I stayed to defend what little we had left and landed all but 1 mission over 2 hours.

If you're just going to switch arenas or log off you're never gonna get better (not implying you're bad).
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I was in blue yesterday...earlier in evening, bish had numbers on both rooks and nits...rooks perk point multiplier was 2.43 for a bit.

Later in evening, about 2 hours later...rooks and knits close for the numbers with bish behind.

just goes to show, some hours your the hydrant, others you are the dog...
Karma, it follows you every where you go...

If nits would work as a team numbers wouldnt be a issue. 3/4 would rather chase a 109 for 30 mins while everyone else is defending or trying to take a base.

Slowly this lack of teamwork is a contributing factor to the rise in rook and bish numbers. Noone likes to lose its simple.

It will take the generals a few weeks to realize they now need to capture bases from both the other countries to win. HT's thread also says that a few bases are uncaptureable. Makes being outnumbered less of a problem.

At some point, after they are finished rolling over you,  the other two countries will have to fight each other and you still have your uncaptureable bases.

In general, Rooks dominate Orange, Bish dominate Blue--As Rook, I cant fly my fav plane in Orange (P47N), as it is usually eny'd out in primetime, and in primetime Blue, we getting horded due to low numbers--I'm not good enough to prevail in 1 on 4's--((lol barely 1 on 1's) neither scenario is fun--I'd have preferred enforced side-balancing, but it seems community sentiment isn't there. I'm prolly gonna quit for a few months+ anyhow....of late, each night when I log off, I wonder exactly WHY I'm doin this:cry

Eeerrr I thought it was a game.  Sims implies actuall flying of a plane.  You know.  All the controls an stuff.  If flying a spitfire is so easy in real life then no wonder jerry had it's arse handed to them...... Na not convinced on it be a sim.....good game though.

p.s  sorry for the hijack.  I said this exact thing 2 weeks ago.  3rd arena for knight to dominate in or just 1 LW.

Last night in LW2/blue the numbers where uneven.  The bish were rolling rooks and knights.  There must have been 50 BoPs on that were rolling bases.  Its really hard to defend against 45 P51s.

If we get a new arena can we get FT or trinity  map?

It all depends on your point of view good sir :)   For me it is a war game with flight being the primary way to win the war ;)
