Christmas Greetings (from AQ#2 no less)
« on: December 21, 2006, 09:39:35 AM »
Hi All,

Just wanted to drop by and wish everyone at the HT OC a Happy Christmas and a very Merry New Year. Rather than sending out one of those irritating and impersonal chain letters, I'm pleased to announce that this year Ayman Al-Zawahiri will be delivering the Webb family Christmas greeting. I hope you enjoy it.

On a more personal note, I haven't been able to fly or post much of late because I promised my wife that I'd spend the bulk of my almost non-existent free time with her and the kids. So please don't feel that just because you don't see me much around here that I don't love you guys. It's just that when AH2 ramped up from game to addiction, it was time for some rehab in the family. I hope to be able to work out a covenant I can stick to with my family, and get in a little bit of flying and posting and posting to the BB in the New Year.

Till then, wishing you and yours all the best in 2007, I remain, your friend,

SEAGOON

Wow... I'm speechless. Zawahiri brought a tear to my eye, truly.

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours, Sea!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Right back at ya Seagoon. Keep in mind a ballance that allows work, family and recreation is the best way to maintain an even state of mind and allow fresh insights from relaxation. In otherwords, you gotta take care of yourself as well as all those around you. Let yourself have a break now and then, you earned it. :aok

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Maverick - thanks for your words of counsel, they are well taken. AH2 really was a problem in that I was pushing the "flight times" further and further into the early morning, because late at night was my only free time. I'm trying to work on creating a little more free time in acceptable hours for that relaxation thing before I forget what it looked like. Next year I'm planning on approaching the session of our church about getting a part time secretary. Doing all the admin work might have been possible when I was preaching one sermon a week and we had under 50 members. But now that we are over 100, and I'm preaching two separate sermons, two bible studies, a Sunday School, doing marriage and family counseling and home and hospital visitations, it's a sure ticket to a coronary. As it is deer season is almost over and I haven't so much as seen a tree stand. What's also sad it that most of my friends will be in Iraq and Afghanistan or PCSed away by the time I clear the decks for free time. At least when the AH2 community deploys, you can follow them around. ;)  But enough griping from me. All the best to you and your good lady wife.
