Unlimited ord in training area.
« on: December 23, 2006, 12:39:58 AM »
it would be nice for those of us who already know how to take off and land with some proficiency to be able to up planes with a unlimited items such as ord and gas and ammo...i was practicing bombing and it drove me nuts having to keep upping to drop...it would have been nice to have even bombs...ten practice drops per sortie...just a thought.  probably nothing new.

thanks.

Unlimited ord in the TA would cause more bad habits in new pilots than it would help. Its bad enough in there now with most new pilots spraying from 1.6 out until they run out of ammo.

Unlimited ord would just make it worse.

If you really want that much ammo, host your own H2H server, then your god, you can set it up your way.

Sorry JB88 but I don't believe that you throught through all the things that this would effect. Its been my experience that no matter what settings are changed,  you'r limited to what bombs/rockets are loaded in the hanger.

Can have 20,000 cannon rounds, but only 2 bombs.

I could be wrong but I'd have to see it to believe it.

i thought about that ghosth, but then came to the conclusion that the benefit of enabling such settings would counteract any short term habits that might have to be broken in the long run.

what made me think this?

there is already unlimited ammo in some of the H2H and i have found that it has not really affected my main play at all...usually i find myself being as conservative with ammo there as i am elsewhere and if i am not, i quickly learn the lesson again and reap the benefit of the increased ACM that rapid turnaround sorties gave me in the H2H rooms.  i actually jumped up a notch or two after flying in there for a bit under less limited conditions.

perhaps unlimited is too far...but i could definately see some benefit from at least increasing the number in the load out ...

in my fantasy world you would go to the bombing arena and hit the button and you would already be up in the air near your target and ready to make your run.  maybe a better alternative?

Your wish was granted (albeit without the unlimited or increased ords) along with the introduction of the new TA map. If you pick the "runway" that isn't the Hanger at the bombing fields to the East, then you're air started at altitude just off your target. Just enough time to get speed steady if you're in a level bomber or get your bearings in a dive bomber.
