If the price tag of such a PS3 drops to under $200 without the Blu-ray im sure the consumers will not mind a couple minutes wait while a game "cache's " into the hard drive before playing. (just like Final Fantasy XI does now on the PS2 anyways).

IIRC, Blu-ray is a Sony technology. Good chance I'm wrong there. I'd figure it's to push the product over the HD-DVDs.

I'd love to see Call of Duty on the Wii.

I got a Wii about 2 weeks ago. It rocks - totally. The Wiimote/Nunchuck combo offers a totally new gaming feeling.

But... CoD3 sucks!!! The GFX look bad (even if NOT compared to the 360/PS3 version), the controls only work so-so, voice-over is bad (oh, well in the german version at least). The Wii wasn't made for graphic intensive games. The crazy, innovative stuff is where it shines! That's why I got it. And Madden NFL 2007 is great - the free-motion control actually WORK!!! (and offer so much more immersion)

Watching out for a cheap 360 on ebay. Some nice eye-candy action games out. Really would love to get RS6: Vegas or Chrome Hounds for that matter!

Some say how bad the PS3 is and all.  I got my PS3 couple days ago and were in stock all over at the mall near me.  Its unbelievable fast loading times on PS2 games, just waiting for a new PS3 game to come out that looks worth getting.  I was thinking about getting Madden for PS3 but already have it for PS2 so using that.

I know its not that big of a deal but it offers break time from AH and hell I can browse the internet with the PS3.

Some dont notice though that PS3 does have a motion senor controller so it is somewhat similar to the Wii's controller.

P.S.- Didnt pay for PS3 bymyself, split cost amongst household.

The price on PS3 on eBay have fallen through the floor.  Saw one that was up for sale for $1,400 and the highest bid it received was for $345.

Xbox 360 is pretty damn nice and does has some really good games for it like Dead Rising and the upcoming Mass Effect but for party games nothing beats the Wii.

Smart buggers at Nintendo when it came to the wii...why compete with the hard core gamer PS2/3 - XBox crowd?

I mean - they tapped into the old fashioned "family" orientated type of games (with access to more mature games) - with the an incredibly fun controller at a very competitive price.

I don't particularly want my sons whiling away their time playing consol games - but if I had to choose I'd go for a wii because I think it's something we could all have fun with...

I say that of course while I still play PC games..and have an Xbox 360 :aok

the xbox 360 has some very interesting games coming up.

Bullet Witch (has me drooling)
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed

But thats about it. 3 'cool' games is all ive seen from this console system.

The Wii... havent heard any good games coming up for it. Its all ports (which suffer due to low res of wii) or again, kiddie mario games. Just how many grannys in Japan buy this thing anyway?

PS3.. ***** the price. Id've bought one already if it wasnt so expensive. Trying to find a 20gb version ($500 range).

The 360 is much more than just a gaming console too.  After having mine for about a month I have to say I enjoy 10x more than I did my old xbox.

Tac, there are some pretty cool games out already:

(The Zelda fishing I mentioned ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mowwQjjlLvA
Rayman Raving Rabbids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G69btPJNKhg
Elebits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqDJCglK8LM

These are just a couple I'm watching carefully.  Also, you can put GameCube games in and play them, so there's that whole library, not to mention the Virtual Console.  My wife and I have been playing a lot of Super Mario Bros lately.

One of my cash office girls is a hardcore gamer. She was telling me weeks before it came out how much better Wii was going to be. She got one the first day they were available. I still have'nt heard the end of Wii's greatness.

That's generally true for all sides, though. Same as linux/mac/windows users fighting over who is best.
