1. When we were younger (I was about 10) my brother and I were throwing pebbles at a Hornet's nest at our grandparents house. Probably around pebble #50, my brother found pay dirt in the entrance. About 30-40 hornets charged the two of us within 3 seconds. I was already 1/2 way to the front door. My brother lost his sense of direction and was seen galloping in between stings on the front lawn.
2. We had just moved into our home and I was mowing the lawn. They had replaced a telephone pole and the ground was uneven. On about the 3rd pass, I went over a crack and at least 100 yellowjackets enveloped the mower and me. I didn't even get stung, but I went to Home Depot and bought 4 cans of Raid Fogger. I strolled up to the mower and about 20 of em were still circling it. I had 2 cans spraying, and I saturated the crack (about 6 ft long). I grabbed the other two and emptied the contents into this crack as well. I then grabbed the hose and flooded the crack until water started puddling up. Never had the problem again.
Eskimo's childhood is very to my brothers and mine. Crazy, off the wall things that looking back on, you'd have to 2nd guess your sanity.
