A problem I am seeing.
« on: December 25, 2000, 12:49:00 PM »
I started see this problem about a week ago.  What happens is when I first pull trigger to fire I freeze for a second then warp to where im supposed to be.  It only does this when I first pull the trigger, if I hold down the button it will be shooting back to normal after about a second(the freeze).  It really makes aiming dificult when firing at close range.  The following changes I have made recently to my PC.
-I uninstalled AWMV
-uninstalled H&D Devils bridge
-install 5.32 driver for TNT2 cards(trying to fix problem above)
-installed Pacific General
-installed Antara

Someone told me it could be associated with ym sound which makes sense cuz when I start to shoot of course it goes bang.  But they said they didnt know what settings to adjust and what to adjust them to.  Any help would great.

The symptons sound like what happens whenever you take a screenshot. Maybe you have mapped this key (Alt+S) to your fire button recently?

You happen to have a Vortex 2 based soundcard?

If so, use the very newest driver and it will fix the problem.  I think the web site is www.vortexofsound.com

My guess is that it is soundcard related.

BLOOM25,
I have a soundblaster 64D, is that vortex based?  They have a newer driver but it messes up my MSFF joystick.  I guess I can try it though.  The new one im talking about is from the gateway website so I dont know if its is vortex based.

Booky, I've seen a similar problem with a few different Creative boards, including my own SB Live.

Go to Control Panel
Select MultiMedia
From the Audio tab, in the "Playback" section, select Advanced Properties
Now, under the "Performance Tab, there will be two sliders.

Try moving the Hardware Acceleration slider down one or more notches.

I had to move mine down two notches, but it cleared up the screen stutter, that happened whenever I fired my guns.

Try it out, it might solve your problem.
