I got the same error and went into the game and the auto updater works. I thought they said it wasnt going to work but its downloading now.  Just try it to see if it works.

dont sweat it, there are just so many DLing it now that their server has hit max user dl limit, just keep trying.

every thing is just fine, its just everloaded at this miniute, I use download accelerator for my cable and it says that the max anon user limit is reached, just wait a while, he addy is right  everything its just full at the moment.

Use one of the mirror sites on the download page. I dnloaded it in about minutes. This will free up HTC's bandwidth, and hopefully prevent the Arena from becoming warpsville.
