Do you seriously think they could have leave him able to speak? Remember what happened to Miloshevish?

Shameless hypocrites.

Before you pat yourself on the back remember he was committing those crimes while the US was supporting him.I suppose they only became crimes after 1990.;)

Who? The Netherlands?

If Milosevic would have made it to France, he too would still be alive today. There's a trend of crazy mass-murdering dictators returning to their hometown only to be captured there and put on trial. Milosevic would have been hanged too (if national laws allowed it).

US sold him about 15 minutes worth of ord during the Iran-Iraq war---libs been saying ever since that we 'created' saddam--99.99% of his military material came from USSR/Russia---had Russians BEEN operating it, things might have ended differently

if i am not mistaken his guard fired upon a group of impoverished protesters at the palace.  (though i don't believe it was by his command)  i think that it ultimately served as one of the final straws for the russian people who were weary of fighting in ww1.  that's memory serving.  i am probably wrong.

trajic story.  the lot of it.
this thread is doomed.

JB88 already mentioned Bloody Sunday (Jan 9th/22nd 1905), plus many other crimes like Lena shootings and so on. He was personally responsible for more deaths then Saddam. IMHO canonization was a silly mistake.

and yet Stalin is "canonized" by some. Go figure.  :)

bloody sunday is his fault? I think not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody_Sunday_1905

Lena massacre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lena_massacre read this several times still trying to figure how Saint Nick was personally responsible for it.

LOL @ Toad, I guess some would "canonized" a bank robber, thief, and mass murdering dictator that was called Uncle Joe Stalin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalin bank robber part is below Stalin in exile 1915 picture and above Stalin, Lenin, and Kalinin meeting 1919 picture.
it seems Stalin was executed/assasinated  by Beria, although nothing definite one way or the other.

yes 88 it is a tragedy. a real tragedy for the people of Russia to allow the murder of the Royal family to go unpunished and the take over of the country by thugs and criminals. but hopefully these events will go to serve as a reminder, that the people will remember and not allow Dictators to rise into power again.

hope all this makes sense, got the flu and feel real crappy sorry for typos etc. time to go lay down, laters.

Wow Nigel that's a good question. How many is the UK going to send to Iraq? As many as they sent to Northern Ireland you think?? The Falklands conflict was all about  sheep and peet moss! The world would be a better place if the UK and it's leaders quit starting all these wars!!

Saddam ordered a chemical weapons attack on the city of Halabja in March 1988 during the Iran-Iraq War. Estimates of casualties range from several hundred to at least 7,000 people. The UK awarded £400 million in trade credits to Iraq ten days after condemning the massacre.

Seems like the US had plenty of company.
