On May 20th, 1927, Charles Lindbergh landed his Ryan monoplane at Le Bourget Field outside of Paris. He had taken of the previous day from Roosevelt Field on Long Island.
Having been told that Lindbergh was approaching Paris, nearing the completion of his historic solo trans-Atlantic flight, hordes of photographers raced to Le Bourget for an opportunity to capture Lindbergh's landing on film.
As his Ryan, christened The Spirit of St. Louis, crossed over the threshold of the runway, dozens, if not hundreds of cameras flashed madly as the aircraft flew through the blinding beams of search lights.
The image above was not one of those taken on that warm Parisian evening... No, the image above was created from the image below... A nearly worthless shot of the sister plane to Lindbergh's, taken nearly two years ago at the Cradle of Aviation Museum with a Fuji S5100 digital.
