Well, I was one of those people who moaned when night came around. I have a major problem seeing in the dark. Even now with the abbreviated night I usually switch to the ground game simply because I cannot distinguish where the runways are when it's dark or near dark. (And hence why I had a recreational cert in real life and if I return to real life flight I'd go for a sport cert to avoid the medical requirements)
But, my moaning was before we had an Alpha control in the game itself and before there was any worthwhile ground game. While I think the Alpha control defeats the purpose of night and personally don't mess with it, I can see night returning to the arenas.
