I think it was mmesa terrain.

Lazer, Ive got around 50 films avalilble for download, that usually have write-ups with them.  I get positive feedback and requests for more from less experienced players.  In this case I just filmed a 3 flight login and posted it as a snapshot of arena flights, which is something Ive never done before.  In the context of 3 hours plus of films and pages of text, there is pleanty to address your comments (it strikes me that damionte sees that).  I'll just leave it at that since the H&T forum is not the proper place to continue carrying on a bit of friendly ch 200 razzing.

Well, I (rather poorly) tried to joke around with you a bit last night, so I assumed the pleasure of your company in this thread might have been a follow up :)

I normally dont have tracers on, but for some reason I had them on last week and never bothered to change them.  Ive spelled out in a number of places that when I take longer range shots, they are intended to spook the target into maneuvering so I can reel them in to a closer range.  I made a long post with like 45 minutes of film showing defensive flying (think one film had 30+ shots doged), and how little it takes to sidestep or avoid incoming fire from the average enemy as long as you have advance knowlege of it comming (SA).  Pretty much spelled out SA components in this very thread, which means I knew what was going on around me but was unconcerned and did what i did anyway because (take your pick) {arrogance} {wanted the challenge} {didnt care}

[edit] may have underestimated the hours of film, its closer to twice that.

I noticed you have your head position set to zoom when you're seriously trying to get a killshot... I'm going to set that up and see if it helps me out.  Thanks Murdr

Edit and WOW did it ever make a HUGE difference for me

2 kills and 2 assists in less than an hour.. that's at least double my usual efficiency

Helps to learn to shoot from no zoom too dich, especially in a big ole furball.

You'll find your most accurate in zoom though.  No zoom also works well on long distance shots. :o

can't disagree.. I get a lot of 'pings' on the non zoomed shots but that seemed to make a large diff on my accuracy on the snapshots and it was a pretty decent furball I was in tonight.

Between Schatzi's remark about how to get 18 views, these films, and Simirals constant coaching I may actually go from flying bait to an average flyer.

Bottom line, as is evidenced by the sadder thread in the other forum, there are tons of good folks here and a small percentage of shall we say the area where fecal matter is ejected from?

Hopefully, some day, many years from now when I feel like I can help a noob, show something they don't know to a reg, and challenge some of you vets, I'll have the time to do so.

We got a good bunch of guys and ladies on this site and in this game and I truly appreciate this community.

Anyone have probs viewing the vids?  Try to open them for viewing and I get a msg saying that windows doesn't recognize the type of file.  Is there a trick?

EndOfSilence, you need to view them with Aces High Film Viewer.

If you have not ever opened an ahf file with the viewer youll need to download the films to your HDD, then go to START > PROGRAMS > Aces High II > Aces High II Film Viewer - launch it and then FILE - OPEN (go to location where you saved the download at, open the ahf).

---------------------------------------

Some quick notes on the film viewer. Let me know if you have any troubles. :)

START > PROGRAMS > Aces High II > Aces High II Film Viewer. Or launch it directly from your game install (C:\Programs\HTC\Aces High II\ahfilm.exe).

After the first time running it, AHF files are automatically associated with the viewer and you can double click a film to open it. One side note though: You cannot start the viewer while the game is open.

To view the films, I usually do so in External View, with Trails, Icons and Recorded Views checked. This gives you a good overview of what happened and who pulled which move. Switching to Internal will give you an idea on how a certain move looks from the inside of the cockpit. Note that you can adjust your head positions in the viewer just like you do in game (arrow keys, page up/down, F10 to save) and that you can also (if youre not using recorded views) use the numpad to look around.
Double clicking a name on the list to the right will let you view the film from another planes point of view. Sometimes its useful to go to the opponents plane and watch yourself flying, how it looked from his point of view. Dont use recorded views if you do that, as those are always *your* views (where you looked to), not the opponents.

Filming and reviewing your fights can be a great learning tool - sometimes the "miracle cheat move" the opponent pulled on you is a simple thing and you can do it yourself next time.

You can also record your own films in game. ALT_R starts/ends recording. While film is capturing, you can see a red R in the upper left corner of your screen. The films are saved as film##.ahf file in your games film folder (C:\Programs\HTC\Aces High II\Films\).
21 is only half the truth.
