X52 setup on new computer
« on: January 01, 2007, 10:38:26 AM »
How do I put my x52 stick configuration onto a new machine.

I have a friend who is going to try the game.  He already had an x52 so I thought I would provide him my setup file so he didn't have to mess with configuring his stick.  It didn't work as I thought (didn't work at all).

I put the setup in his Saitek directory and also in a file called "sticks" in his HTC directory.  In map controllers within the game the x52 is selected.

I would appreciate some guidance.

Thanks

One problem I ran into, and you may be running into also, is that your joystick drivers and SSt programming version have to match.

Mine was fine, but through Windows updates I got updated joystick drivers.  My stick program stopped working.  I went to the Saitek site and followed their FAQ's and discovered the problem.  All I had to do was download and install the new SST software,  and put my old stick file into the Saitek folder-problem solved.

My guess is that either you or your friend has the newer joystick drivers.

Just a guess though...
