New Stick & Old throttle?
« on: January 02, 2007, 10:50:06 AM »
I currently have the X45 stick by saitek. I am considering buying the
ch products stick. I know the price tag is around 100 for the stick alone without the throttle. Can you use the X45 throttle with the ch stick??
The throttle just has a gameport connection on it and connects directly to the stick?
Just wondering about this?

I'm currently using an X-52 throttle with my CH stick, works perfectly.

Edit: the throttle you have may be totally different, I've never had an X-45

Hi brenjen

Does the x52 have the same setup as the x45. did you plug the throttle into computer game port and use the STT software??

I use my X45 throttle with a X52 stick
I use the SST software for the X45 throttle assignments and have assigned the buttons to the X52 within AH setup

Sorry for the grammer! I was saying, How do you connect the X45 throttle to the computer? Do you have to use the game port on your sound card?

both are usb. you have to hook up both sets .. I just place the X45 jstick with its broken trigger and the X52 throttle (I like the rotors and buttons on the X45 throttle better) under my desk

Hi and thanks for the help!
The x45 throttle is a game port that plugs into the x45 stick.
So, you then have to hook up both sets and just leave the x45 stick on the side!
You then probably have to assign the new CH products fighterstick inside of
AH?? The x45 stick is always active then??

I sent away for the CH figther stick so i will give it a try. Hopefully soon I will just get the CH throttle also! But, I will try the set-up you have!
I also like the X45 throttle..

Bandit, Schutt is using a X45 throttle and a CH Fighterstick.

You have to plug the X45 Throttle (serial) into the Stick and then the Stick USB into Computer. You need a second USB port on your Computer for the CH stick. Unfortunatly, youll have to keep the Saitek stick to route the signal through - cant plug the throttle directly into the computer.

Then, when programming in AH, select the CH Stick, and Map it. Then, when mapping the Saitek X45 Flight controller, just leave the X and Y axis and all stick buttons unmapped and just map the throttle axis/buttons. If you do not know which button is which in the list in AH, just click the button on the stick/throttle and it gets highlighted outomatically (double pressing the button will even open the MODIFY window).

Im not sure if or how programming with the respective Software (saitek/CH) would work, but id guess very much alike (ie just "ignore" the X45 Stick functions when mapping). Neither me nor Schutt ever installed any of it.
