I did what you used to do Lusche. When FT map was running, I'd furball for a little while and then move on to other things. Sometimes I wouldnt move on. I miss it.

So what you are trying to say is that people doing what they found/find to be fun ... sucked people away from what you find to be fun ? ... they need to be doing what you find fun to make your experience(s) better, but the heck with what they find fun ?

I still, to this very day, have a hard time comprehending that logic.

na what he is saying is all parts of this game *should* be able to fight/have fun in the same area... and we shouldnt be split into TT,FT,BT etc.... ;)

Yeah I miss it too, great place to learn to fight and defend your tail at the same time.

Would love to see it back.

I would like to see a fighter town arena as well.  Seems like we have a bunch of other arena's, why not a fighter town?  I firmly believe it would not 'rob' the MA of its player base.  I think it would create an new generation of better fighter pilots.   Which reminds me, with the new ack updates I need to try out a new "Fightertown" map on a H2H server.

I greatly miss FT, too, gents... it was a great place to hone your skill, especially your SA and gunnery, if you wanted to survive you had to have lots of eyes looking everywhere and to kill in the quickest way your target (no, I don't HO on purpose! :D), it was great fun, even when you got shot down. It wasn't so every time, there were moments when the fights were frustrating, when the horde ruined the fun, but, nonetheless, most of the times it was a blast... Today we have NDisles and TT has area where you can furball, but it's not the same thing.... I badly want FT back! :(

P.S. To the people who wants a different arena for furballing: not a good idea. As Overlag said:

And this can only be achieved in a single arena, in a map that offers FT, TT and the capturing game in 1 single place. While I was fighting in FT, I could anyway enjoy the banter on ch. 200, no matter where the people was or what was doing, I could immediately go attacking a base in the next sortie, if I got bored of fighting, or taking a GV and going blasting everything in sight, without any need of switching arena. THAT was the best way of having people doing what they like, altogether and in good fun. Splitting people through specialized arenas is not a good idea, sorry.
Just my 2 cents, of course.

I badly, badly want FT back.

Yep, that's true, especially now that bases must be captured in a certain order, but they are not the same kind of furballs you could find in FT, with lots of fighters thinking only about dogfighting, no field porkers or bombers.

Furballs now can be fun, but definitely they're not the same thing as FT, Jim. ;)

Unless Porkfrog is living in South Central LA, nothing in his experience will have equipped him to survive a Friday night in Glasgow.

Unless, of course, he's a military man and has a couple of tours of Iraq under his belt.

God I miss the neds.
