The standard gunsight is equally effective for air and ground targets.  Why do you want two?

Wait, I'm confused.  What gunsight would that be?  The gunsights I know were just a single sight and couldn't be toggled between two different pictures.

Well im sure most of the sights were 2 in 1, butthe 51, 38L and 47d30 had Ava and AvG sights. I hope this info is enough. Now keep in mind this is just "wishlist" bbs. A sight for hopes and dreams of sorts for AH staff to fetch some ideas from.  Not for angry little people like you to rain negative view's. If you dont like the idea than dont post.

"If you dont like the idea than dont post."

I don't think they are trying to be "negative" on purpose.

The point is that the sight pattern was selected before flight according to mission role and not IN flight. You can change the sight in hangar and that is enough for me.

Of course it could be tied to the role screen where you switch between fighter-attack-bomber roles so it would happen automatically if you have selected different sights for the same plane for different roles.

Or does anybody know if the patterns could be changed in flight IRL?

Gary, you make it sound as it those aircraft had gunsights that could be toggled between air-to-air and air-to-ground mode at will, like a modern fighter.  Unless you're referring to the K-14, which was a pretty fancy sight (and not standard), I think you're wrong.  At any rate, you can't claim something outlandish and then get upset when people ask you for a source or something.  In fact, I didn't even do that, I just asked you what sight you were talking about.

I wouldnt say outlandish. I just said it would be cool to be able to toggle between them. Didnt say when. As far as the source, check the Complete Combat aircraft Library. I have the books for the LW, Brits and LW. It gives full specs right down to the rivets.

I guess the whole thing was stupid. When u sit back and think about sights can be changed before u up. What made me mad is it is a simple post. A stupid little idea i had. Didnt really think you needed to question if one sight was good enough or not. Guess i never read where u asked for my sources.

YUPEER. You can make your own. In your sights folder, you will find em. I use paintshop, and downloaded some extra ones from the sights and sounds fourm. From there you can make your own. I use Photoshop, and just save it as a bmp file. Then just use it in game by setting your sight to plane.
I got my own style, basically its the jabo with a little sight line.

:aok
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.
