Looking for old friends
« on: January 16, 2007, 01:08:29 AM »
Hello I am new to the the game here. It appears to me at the moment that Aces High looks similar to the old Air Warrior I use to play back in the early nineties.

With that in mind, I am curious to see if their is anyone from my old Air Warrior Squadron on Aces High, the AW squadron was called the Confederate Knights, comprised of southern USA Police Officers, (thus the name Confederate for the south and knights as in blue knights), the squadron was headed up by a gentlemen named john who went by the old handle WORRO.

If anyone knows of what happened to this old squad or if it transferred to here, I would be very greatful to hear from you, thanks for your time.

Not sure about Worro, or any other CKs, but there are a LOT of old people from Air Warrior here. I haven't see Worro since AW shut down though.

We do have a "Blue Knights" squadron, yet I doubt their police officers!

Well they were not comprised of "Southern Police Officers", but a bunch of Police/corrections/and retired from all over.  I was one of them.  I know ESU is here and maybe more under different cpid's but Worro was reported to be inflected with a major medical problem and haven't seen him since the demise of AirWarrior.  I am a Bish and ESU is not, don't remember if he is knight or rook.  I don't think I've seen any other of the squad.  It would help if you logged on with your CPID of back in AW as I was "Doc1" there but am "awDoc1" here, to designate to my old buds that I migrated from AW to here.  Gawd... I used to remember having to defend the squad name all the time as being racist and that just wasn't the case as we had white/black/hispanic/oriental/ and jewish members.  Now that was a real PITA!  We had some from Los Angelos, NY, Alaska, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, England, Arkansas, Texas, heck... all over the place.

All the Best...

I remember.. I just recall how WORRO came up with the name so I thought it shold be a point to ensure it wasnt confused with other connotations. My old ID from there was CPRP. I remember WORRO as well as SUPCOM and a few others, but I left it in 1999 due to a loss of computer access and when I got my own, AW was gone. Also back in those days I was with the Sheriff's Office in San Antonio, since then I have migrated north to Michigan still working in law enforcement. I have always been curious what became of the old squadron.  Thanks for the info and look forward to hearing more if you have any!!!

Hey CPRP whats doin??? ESU here! A guy named PK1 who's an old AW player said there was a thread about the knights so I started looking. I dont get to the forums much. As DOC1 said a few of us are here, me, AKOP, WORRO tries it a little, BAKUS although he goes by ViZeen now. I can give u updates on most of us. As Doc said Worro got pretty sick, contracted or developed multiple sclerosis. Affected his motor skills so his department had to let him go. 20 plus years and it was adios. His wife of a few years also bailed on him and left him with 2 young kids, a real horror story. SUPCOM, worros brother also still around but got hurt in an accident at work and also on disability. WEEZL still around and has tried the game, he still with LA sheriffs. I retired after 2o yrs NYPD, waitin on a disability pension, thanks to 9 months at the trade center I now have the lungs of a 76 yr old man. But I wouldnt trade it for the world. DId my duty, would do it again. AKOP retired from the Alaska state police and lives in Fla near worro and scom. Tex still a deputy in texas, he dont play flight sims much. Most of the other guys just drifted away. Rzrback had a heart attack and retired from the Little ROck PD. He doesnt play either, just rides his harley. Thats about all I can remember for now, I'm a knight here as is AKOP. Whats your cpid here??? See you up  ,, AZ rules! lol,

Just a quick update for CPRP, Vizeen and Doc, in my last post I mentioned Rzrbk had a heart attack a few years ago , well we got a message from his wife that he passed away last week. His heart finally gave out. For those that didnt know he was a helo pilot in Nam, shot down twice, recieved the bronze star and then went on to fly for the LIttle Rock Arkansas PD. Rest In Peace brother, Sgt Jim Wilson,Little Rock PD.
