What's the scoop?
« on: January 16, 2007, 08:23:33 AM »
I'd like a post every now and then (weekly?) with the AH crew telling us what is just around the bend.

Nothing grandiose but maybe just.

"This week we'll be discussing X"

or

"Messerschmitt Me 410...coming soon"

Now...as a gamer and fan...it would be great.  As a developer I understand they'd probably rather have a full body cavity search than put up with the flamewars that would come from a 'status' forum.

"ME 410?  You German lovers...I want a XXX I hate you all...I'm leaving the game!!111oneone"

etc.

But...it's a wishlist and that's my wish.  :)

people have complained a ton in the past asking for "news" (NOT that you are complaining, like you said, your's is a suggestion)

I think personally, they seem to have a very "fluid" business, and from what I have seen in the past 5 years is what was said last week, or planned is not necessarily what is the most important thing this week. Dale has said at the cons he is a funny guy, who will get distracted by a concept that interests him, and try and work it out. it has happened in the past with suggestions in this forum.

imagine if they had put out a mention that NATEDOG was leaving before he actually did? they'd be flooded with questions, applications from people who have no business in the position, and a general mess overall.

I am sure once they got word from NATE the search for a replacement was on, and making sure Waffle was the right guy took some testing, and thought. I'd bet the transition took 60% of their "time" between Nate's leaving and the official announcement of Waffle.

another thing is if they are working on a "bug" of thing they found, you can bet people would go out of their way to try and find said bug, and a way to exploit it.

thats my thoughts on why there is not a ton of announcements on what is being worked on.

Ya, I agree the negatives incredibly outweigh the positives.

I'm just anxious to know what the next new unit will be.  I'm jonesing for more!
