Why don't the troops in Iraq support the troops in Iraq? Amerihaters.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Morale must be pretty low to have that happen. The generals who have opposed the strategy have mostly been replaced. The lower ranks are beginning to realize the plan is more of the same - a horrible insurgency that cannot be quelled easily and world opinion drifts farther and farther away from the US.

This is beginning to seem like the beginning to the Road Warrior, where they talk about the oil wars.

Next up: A Gulf of Tonkin or USS Liberty false flag to go hot with Iran and re-instate the draft. Look for it on a CNN near you in the weeks to come.

Of everyone in this thread, how many have been to Iraq in the last 3 Years?  I know the press is feeding you your opinions, and you can't see that.  I just returned and I'm telling you that we need to finnish this job, or we'll be going back soon, under truely defensive neccessity.  If a 22 yo marine is the best spoksman they can come up with, that says something to me.  So we get out before the job is done, But what really happens after that?  I agree that we had no buisiness going in there, but we did, And now we CAN'T get out till the job is done.

No, not even.  Even back during WW2 there were naysayers and those in the press who were invested in doom and gloom.  It was not a "Coming Together for the Common Good" paradise.  There was strife then, there is strife now.

The difference is the distance the media could reach.  It doesn't change the fact that there were people against going to fight the germans and japanese, and there always will be people against going to fight the islamofascists.

Interesting way to phrase that in a manner that does not quite cover the spectacle being reported.

As a soldier, you cannot be interviewed by the media without express permission from your OIC. You cannot put on a media show in protest of a war unless you receive permission to do so. The act is punishable by courtmarshal.

This is not about contacting your congressman. This is about a media spectacle.
