I dunno about American Idol, but I do know a former AW and AH player who appeared on Jerry Springer....twice :)

Getting paid isnt what makes you a sell out. Its catering to a market based soley on maximising profit margin while totally neglecting any sense of artistic integrity or honesty that does that.
