commercial aircraft had 0 passengers on board.

It was a test of the computer landing sytem developed by boeing.  (I am pretty sure I have seen that one before)

I agree the films are gruesome, but look at how many people wont look away from a train wreck.

Telling someone to close their eyes is hardly a disclaimer.

and get out of your Dr. Phil mode, it's a tad borish.

while it is a tasteless descision to post people dying in aircrashes on an aviation forum it is related to the suvject and it is most likely that the films will be interesting to a larger % of the population thatn those they offend.

i think sweet2th just saw this for the first time and was truly amazed at such footage and just wanted to share it.

i dont think he has been overtly laughing at the film, more of a ':O at the film look at these dudes wow, dont watch it if you dont like seeing p38s destroyed' type of statement.

we dont have to be PC police all the time.

Like I said in my original post, maybe some more thought about where he is posting this could have been taken into consideration.  I know there are several fellows in here that knew that 38 pilot.  I understand why it is interesting to watch and am myself very curious to witness these types of videos.  I was basically giving sweet2th a heads up on what some in here will definitely find extremely disturbing and very disrespectful!  It was his response to my post that let me know he really doesn't give a rats patooty about who knew the guy or what they think about it!

Hey!  I'm cool because I posted a vid where a fellow Warbird enthusiast lost his life letting others witness the beauty of these beloved machines!
The above sarcasm is exactly what I got from his response!

That's hardly fair.  I quite enjoy watching non-fatal crashes (such as the Su-27 where the crew ejected) for the spectacular fireworks shows, and it also can be beneficial to learn something from any crash.  But for me and a lot of other folks, it's customary to only watch non-fatalities for entertainment.  When I see a compilation of crashes created for entertainment purposes, I expect them to be non-fatalities.  My first clue that this one wasn't was the firefighting airplane's terrible accident.

The objection isn't that a fatality was posted, it's that it was posted without mentioning that it was a fatality.  Moreover, my obection is that fatalities were included in a compilation meant for entertainment.  You can call me "politically correct" until you're blue in the face, and those who know me will know it is not so.  I simply think that we should have a little more respect than to consider the fates of others as entertainment.  In this we as a culture are becoming little better than the Romans sitting in the Colosseum.

OK, so once you saw the firefighting aircraft go down, did you stop watching?  At that point you realized that it wasn't just non-fatal accidents, right?  If you didn't, then stop standing on your soapbox.

Did anyone who's read this thread know any of the pilots in any single one of the videos posted?  Doubt it!  If you in fact did, then I'm sorry for your loss, but if not, quit whining about a "what if someone did" scenario.

I am an avid skydiver, and I watch skydiving accident films all the time.  Does this mean that I have no moral fiber, no, it's just something that I can relate to.  It doesn't mean that I am getting any kind of enjoyment out of seeing people lose their lives, or being seriously hurt.

I thought the video compilation was fine. I do not believe it was meant to cause anyone harm.

I think it is just as appropriate to put in your two cents without being attacked for it.

I did see one post on another subject that made sense. If you have a personal issue with something posted on here. Take  up privately with them.

It is more acceptable to recieve criticism in private and praise in public.

My two pennies.

Number one..
High speed aircraft crashes are very very rarely "gruesome deaths" Having worked several of these from a EMS perspective I can tell you its not a rescue effort as much as a recovery one.

secondly..
Anyone who watches a buddie crash their plane while performing at an airshow already knows a few things...
a.) noone is immortal
b.) that person loved doing that enough that he would put his life at risk for the rush.
c.) skyrock is a tard and is just trying to get a reaction from ppl.

thirdly...
Id rather go down in a ball of flames.. than die of cancer in a hospital

to all the pilots who met their ends flying with the birds.
