Well that is where the problem is

Try these two ideas.
One: go to the same gameport- joystick window but go to the driver tab. Try and change the driver to the standard microsoft joystick driver. Should be C:\windows\system]msjstick.drv.
Or two:
If that fails try this. Disable your sound cards gameport, Reboot. Now add a standard Microsoft gameport by
1.Single click on Start, Setting, and Control Panel from your start menu.
2.Double click on Add New Hardware
3.Single click on Next
4.Single click on the radio dial for No, the device is not on this list , then single click on Next
5.Single click on the radio dial for No, I will select from a list , then single click on Next
6.Double click on Sound, video and game controller
7.Single click on Microsoft for manufacturer and Gameport Joystick for model. Then single click on Next
8.The next screen should show your gameport with an Input/Output setting of 201. If so, then click Next .
9.Windows will then shut down your computer.
If that does not work. then delete the new gameport by removing it, reboot. Then re-enable your soundcards gameport and reboot. Look again and see if you have 201 for setting or can change it now. If not...
Well, after that I'm out of ideas.....
