Any fighter will eat an IL2 for lunch.  it just depends on who is flying the fighter.

I'm not so sure - last month I took out a Spixteen in a bomb-laden IL2 - the 6-100kg package.  It was a true dogfight - I didn't want to drop the ord until I had to, since we had plenty of PZs rolling in.  I got the Spit on a high-deflection crossing shot, but I wouldn't call it a "luck" shot.  I'm sure it might've had something to do with the Spitty pilot's skill, but I was surprised at how nimble the IL2 still managed to be, even loaded with ord.

I like it.

I agree. The Il-2s I flew when I was a russian pilot weren't nearly this good.

one thing people seem to forget is the Il2 is a flying TANK... its SUPPOSE to take punishment from AAA fire.... fighter fire is (normally) much lower calibre.

most planes can do "fighter like moves".... However true fighters wont loose all E after 1 turn.

Il2 isn't over-modeled at all. (i would say anyway)

TANK.   If the Soviets had THESE IL-2's, WWII would have been over sooner in the ETO.

This is the point we need to look at here. The Il-2 will do amazing things when it has a little speed under it's belt. Otherwise it really is a flying rock. Energy management is key.
