the verdict on50% capture rule?
« on: January 22, 2007, 06:45:18 AM »
Just wondering how others feel about the new 50% capture instead of 33%, personally i dont like it, but what do you guys think?

It appears that the maps are very slow to change, or wars to be won,

I don't care much for who "wins the war" or anything related to that....

but I will say it is getting really tired with the same map up for over a week in LWOrange.

so in that respect, someone reset the map already :furious :cry

This slows the reset down. Rooks/Bish need to own 50% of two countries bases to win. So gangbanging one country does nothing to reset the map.

I like this furball island map it lends itself to good furballs unlike the others.  I like not having to worry so much about the war winners it allows me the opportunity to go out and hunt down the hordetards and shoot the flocking squeaks down.  I like it when a country captures all of furball island and the crawLpuppies howl long on ch200 about the injustice of it all.  I like how the BoPs abuse the .report system and get people muted for one week for disagreeing with them, all the result of the frustartion and duress it causes them when they can't win the war.  in short gentlemen for me HTC has struck the perfect balance.

maybe the next thing will be for those players prone to circumventing the 32 members per squad rule to break it more by having a total of ten to the tenth BoP squads.  this in an effort to win the war.

As usual the so-called generals either don't know how to read or simply can't understand what they do read.

I'm really surprised there haven't been bug reports about the maps not resetting after capturing all of one country's bases.

I don't think the majority really care about winning. It seems to be about who is taking over TT bases and then punishing them for it.

Still no entertainment value in being crushed by eny and getting it stuck to you by two countries flying la7's and getting a perk bonus for it. The dar in blue lastnight reflected almost no bish/rook fighting.

Heck at 2am there was a bish cv with a rook cv right behind it both attacking 41 and no cv group was attacking the other.

Then again nits seem to be thier own worst enemy lately I started out a rook, went bish and was squaded with my old aw buddies as nit. Nits are alot slower on calling cons, 6 checks, and never EVER deack a field. Where I noticed rooks communicate pretty good and most bish will brave ack to take out a few.

Boils down to teamwork.

All I know is that for weeks now I can count on the TT/Island map to be up in Orange and the Baltic (?) map to be up in Blue.

Yawn.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

The map we have now is a good balance between TT, CV usage and furballs.  Just variety is lacking.

Seems over the last few days Nits have been getting hit hard nearly makes me want to go fly them again.  But usually i cant stand having to squelch all of the pre-teens.

50% of each is a little high.  Maybe lower it a touch.

But i'm with storch on the reset thing does make better fights when people realise there is no point in taking anymore undefended  fields in a 40 player horde (Bish).

the way they play is not how I like to play.  I played that way as a noob when I was in JG3 but it got old incredibly fast.  I would never even consider applying to a squad like that.  the whole concept of flying around with all those players going from base to base hoping for no opposition is anathema to me.  they do provide plentiful targets though and often times I get to kill 5 or 6 in one fight even though it may be those same 5 or 6 against l'il ol' me.
