Time for my quarterly "Sorry, AHers!"
« on: January 22, 2007, 02:57:50 PM »
I'd like to offer a general apology to LW-Blue for my text "behavior" last night. (Without going into details, I'll just say I was a frustrated wordy whiner for a couple hours....)

As 200 smack talking nastiness goes, it wasn't even a blip on the radar. Even so, it didn't reflect who I am or who I want to be.

l offer no excuse. I hope I didn't ruin anyone's evening!

BTW -- at one point I know I dissed an individual rook pilot. I don't remember his handle, but if anyone who was there does please pass my apology on to him.
Maturity is knowing that I've been an idiot in the past.
Wisdom is realizing I will be an idiot in the future.
Common sense is trying to not be an idiot right now

If we weren't supposed to make fun of people, why do we have a common channel?

I hate to put your post back in the front, but let me just say I think we have almost all been there.  This game is frustrating as all get out sometimes.

The other day when running a mission I had this little kid in it who kept piping up on vox...you know the kind, squeeky little voice, gives everyone the play by play as he is seeing it....but only after asking questions that we just defined had he been listening.  Anyway, was frustrated and stern with him, then gave a bit of lambasting on country channel.  Afterwards thinking, just a game stupid..anyway, felt bad, resolved not to do that anymore.

Cheers:aok

Why are you apologizing? Are you a communist?

Not only have we all been there, I was there yesterday and today - yesterday when a B-17 lit my 262 on fire during a CH mission, after which I obliterated his flight before punching out. And today in another 262 when puffy ak from a CV did the exact same thing.

Only difference is the brookylnese was over vox and not 200 where it could be moderated. Embrace the horror, you are human - and humans are emotional creatures thank god. Don't let anyone train that out of u, unless you need to strafe a crowd of 200 chutes.

I'm the most restrained person you'll ever meet and even I've lost it 3 times over the past few months (twice with prompting, once on my own as the "victim").
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Not stressed at all. I just believe in "keeping short accounts" -- if I've wronged someone, I want to make it right as soon as I can. If that's not possible, either because of situations or the other person's attitude, then I just want to be sure that I've done what I can. That ends the situation as far as I'm concerned.

Having a clear conscience is liberating too!

Wolfala --

Not a commie! Absolutely true that we've all been there, and we're all human. (And for the first time in a year months, I strafed a chute yesterday after buffs I chased bailed out of proxy range!) Nobody is "training" anything out of me at all...I just want to keep growing into a better person.

And no, I don't think the Chute guy deserves an apology!

Sim,

Mea Culpa's are always good.  Truth telling.  Our actions and ideals can separate a time or two.

Folks I admire call it contrition and repentance.  Let's us know our conscience is still working.
