Author Topic: System Lockups with 1.08 (Read 406 times)

Installed 1.08 and have had system lockups randomly since. PC locks solid - will not CTRL ALT DEL or ALT TAB - video freezes and thats it - have to hard reset. Doesn't seem to be any pattern. Have been running beta 16 and 1.07 patch 3 fine.

Anyone any ideas where to start ??

ATI RAge fury with 7140 drivers
256mB RAM
Creative PCI64 soundcard

When you lock up do you get a constant beep sound because I am too and it's really aggravating.

Heya,

Is this problem like just when computer boots or something? I am having the exact same thing happen to me. My computer will just lock up solid, I cannot cntl-alt-del out - nothing. Have to do a hard reboot, and sometimes two or three times!

HELP!

I don't know about him Nimitz but it locks me tight as a drum I can't do anything other than push the reset button. The screen freezes and I get a steady constant Beeep noise from the speakers. Sometimes it will be as soon as I enter sometimes it will be an hour into flying. Or anytime in between I can't see any pattern to it at all other than that incessant BEEEEEPPPP!!!

I get the same computer lock up, but what ever sound or sounds were playing at the time will keep playing until I hard start the computer. This as happen since I've loaded the game last year. Sometimes I can play for hours until a lockup, sometimes just 5 minutes. Sometimes it will lock up every 5 minute (or about). There is no set time or actions when it locks up. But it has gotten worse since I've upgraded to 1.08, the patch did not help. I've tried everything I can think of and read about in here. Still nothing helps.
My system has:
Win98SE
AMD Duron 900MHz
640 meg's of Ram
Abit KT7A Motherboard with the lastest drivers.
Voodoo 3, 3000 PCI card.
PCI 128 Sound Blaster, latest drivers.
Direct X 8.0a
56K V-90 modem at 26,400 download.
Any help would be appreciated.
