Ground looks like snow

I installed a new video driver to correct my FR problem and now have a new problem. After take off at about 400ft or so, the ground turns white as snow or fog. I cant see anything on the ground above 400ft. Is there a gamma slide or something that I need to adjust. I can live with 15 FPS but I gotta be able to see what Im hitting on the ground. I cant even see fields once above 400ft.

I think I see the problem.  Your card only has 4 Megs of RAM.  This means that only 2 Megs are going to textures.  Usually, 1/2 of your RAM goes to textures.  With only 4 Megs, AH might be overloading your card.  Consider getting a TNT2 or Savage 4 Pro.

I have an ATI card using the Rage Pro chip as well.  Take a look at the known issues for the newest driver (5-28-99) release date.  Janes WWII fighters has an issue with snowy, white graphics as well.  You are having a driver problem, either wait for a new version, or get a different (i.e. older) driver.  Judging from the list of problems with that driver, it is TERRIBLE to put it mildly.  The version I have installed on my card doesn't have white graphics, but it does perform terribly, because it tries to render the prop.  My solution, buy a viper 770.   I ABSOLUTELY can't stand this card.

FYI: My card is an 8mb Expert@work, but they use the exact same drivers.  Here's the link to the page in question for the version you have: http://support.ati.com/drivers/3drage_pro.html

Are you using the optional high-res textures?

I too am having ATI Rage Pro difficulty.  I posted some time back.  Diamond says it is the DirectX7.0 problem.  Alas, I ended up formatting my HD to no avail. I installed the newest ATI Rage Driver-  http://support.atitech.ca/drivers/3drage_pro.html  ,  which fixed AW3, but now both AW3 and AH are fried!  I have the Monster3DII installed as well.  And I did use their new drivers. The video issue is here and in AW3 as well.  Wish I had a fix for you all.  Sadly, my ATI 4Meg card is built in, and money is an issue, since my monitor went out.
