I might be able to come up with a 19" CRT, I'll have to check.

I've got an ok Vid card that I'll check out, and make sure it's working well.  It's an ATI chipset, only 128mb onboard though.  Better than nothing, if you can't find any other givers.

Beats mine.  I have an old 64 meg video card that I could send but would definately recommend the 128 card instead :)

Good luck Niners.

I have a 22" sitting around but it would cost a fortune to ship it.

yeah, that's definately the problem with CRT's, they're so heavy, they would cost alot.

Believe it or not, tell him to go by the local Goodwill store. The last one I checked out was full of computer stuff and it was dirt cheap.

999000, how old is his system?  What kind of video card does he have?

If it's an older system like mine he won't be able to go beyond a 64meg video card because the agp slots for the 2x/4x cards are different than the 4x/8x cards and from your description it sounds old.  I put a 64meg NVIDEA card in mine w/512K RAM and my performance, for an old machine is decent (35-40 fps in most situations).

Anyway, if it's an upgrade for him I have my old 32meg NVIDEA card lying around with several varying size PC100/133 RAM chips.

I find the game uses about 50-60% of my video RAM and ~70% of my RAM while running but I also have the top two graphics sliders turned down all the way unless I'm in a vehicle or on an attack run, then I turn ground detail to max with very little adverse effect.

I also bought a Viewsonic 19" CRT monitor which wasn't very expensive and works great.

But then again im not sure im going off memory from the last time i was over there you should double check with 9s or tater first.

Mine's 8 years old and still chugging along.

He should have better performance if that's the case.  He probably needs to stop a bunch of stuff that's running in the background and run a check for spyware.  Anti-virus, anti-spyware, pop-up blockers, etc. are resource hogs, often conflict with other programs and need to be turned off at least while in-game.   A simple check of system resources after a clean boot would tell a lot.  They should be at least 85 or 90% free.

He should also delete anything in the windows/temp folder, clear his browser cache, run scandisk and defrag regularily.  I find I have to defrag at least every couple of months to maintain what performance I have.

Wish I had a newer machine.

I can recommended the Jarvis LKE-1 "Lung Gun":
http://www.technex.pl/supplier/Jarvis/engl/lung_gun.htm

It probably won't help you much with Aces High, but it's a fascinating conversation piece.

I'll quote from the product description:
"JARVIS MODEL LKE-1 PNEUMATICALLY CONTROLLED LUNG GUN FOR HIGH-SPEED REMOVAL OF POULTRY LUNGS AND KIDNEYS

--Ideally suited for removal of chicken, turkey, duck, and goose lungs and kidneys
--Operator fatigue and error is reduced by the unique air trigger system
--Instantaneous vacuum-the usual delay associated with conventional guns is eliminated
--Easy to clean for optimum hygiene- simply suck disinfectant through with the vacuum and spray externally"

It's just one of the many reasons why you should never offend someone who lives in farming country.

I'm rebuilding a pc for a friend of my wife's, and I've been trying to get my hands on some pc-100, and 133, but everyone wants WAY too much for them.  Would you be willing to part with some, and if so, what sizes do you have?
