Every year, the Air Force Historical Research Agency digitizes more and more documents. Some of these were historical studies funded by the Air Force. Some are German authored histories. These documents are available free of charge in PDF format from the AFHRA website.

Students of the Luftwaffe will find many Luftwaffe related historical studies.

WOW.

It's sad though, that it's just about now, when only so few flyers of WW2 remain, that we are finally getting significant archives digital, - and online.
I was on the hunt for particular LW losses for instance, - that lead me to sweep books, online archives and then eventually LW loss records on microfilms, but in vain.
Quickly I found out that there were lots of puzzles to be put together, and some documented sources would not hold water. So, it is quite a powertool when many documens come together in a quick an viewable way such as the net.
So, let's dive in and have a look.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
