I want it.  Just thinking about having no instrument panel to obscure defelection shooting is keeping me up at night.

Seriously, Pyro's argument is convincing.  Early war has been done before....alot.  Some of those 1945 figher designs which never saw combat are new territory to model.  Bearcats, Tigercats, Ta-152s, Arado 234 jet bombers, Meteors jet fighters, B-29s, 177 Greif bombers, Heinkel 162 Salamander jet fighters, ect.

Hell, I've been an advocate of a "Century Series" flight sim for awhile.  1950's jets fighting WW3 (bomber fleets nuking NATO and Warsaw pact nations).

I'm not opposed to 1946 era aircraft.

Hanz.

I agree totally, also put in some late-war German A2A missles, perhaps have seperate arenas, such as a late-war prop fighters only arena,  one WW2 Jet arena, mid era WW2 arena and an early war arena.  I realize, however, that this would take forever but it would certainly be better than having just 1 MA with all sorts of planes from different eras, it would also be much more 'realistic' and 'historical'.  Aces High needs to do something,  model planes that are rare and exotic that people have never flown before, this will attract people, definatly more than it will as being just another WB with better graphics, this type of game has been done before, people are getting bored and leaving. Time to do something different, and HTC can do it.

Oh yes Oh yes the 410 !!

Now you want to talk firepower

In this pic if you look closely you will see x6 MG151 20mm cannons, and at least x2 MG's (maybe x4 but can't remember the internal config when the outter nose cannons are installed)

And in this one, I'm not quite sure of the loadout but count all the holes. TEN, yep 10 gunports on this sucker.

And of course here is the gratuitous cheescake 50mm BK50 cannon shot.

"The cone sticking out of the windshield is a telescopic gun-sight."

Nice, very nice. Of course we have that on all our planes already :P

Was the 50mm used for tank-busting, bomber-busting or both btw?

Mostly, if not exclusively, against bombers.

The idea was to setup outside of range of the gunners, lob shells in from a distance to break up the formation with the 50mm, and then close in for the kill.

The BK50 50mm was originally a tank (anti-tank?) gun I do believe though.

Now this is a manly plane !

Don't you dare to strafe those chutes

Well, if that MG 131 barbette is anything like buff .50 cal, there won't be any chutes to strafe

Now, Verm, look at your 2nd pic of 410.

Could those be even 2 more guns in the bay below the fuselage (and a total of 12 !) ?

Anyway, the plane is too cool to be left out of AH planeset. Especially in scenarios.

What can we expect from it ? How would it do against 1944 opposition ? Would it have to be flown extra carefully to survive ?

Right on Spooky.  Looks like I am not alone.

I want a jet.  I don't want it painted...polished only.  I want missles that only work in ideal situations.  I want only some of them to have radar.

Mig-21 or F-104 for me.  The 104...ah...two sidewinders, no radar, and a 20mm gattling gun.  All engine.

Now doesn't that sound like fun?

Hanz.
