How about Bridges in MA Maps?
« on: January 30, 2007, 12:34:36 AM »
Would be great to see an idea like this go through. Having a map that has bridges that can be destroyed. Could also add Rivers to so you would have to roll an LVT. little ideas little ideas

Example. have a bridge that you can blow up  real simple you either guard the bridge to get over so even if the VH is up you can still diable the bridge. just an idea.

Yeah, I'd like to see more natural and man-made obstacles in the MA maps.  For instance, it would be cool to see more natural obstacles between spawnpoints and towns/bases, such as rivers, ravines, and bluffs.  Span these with bridges (or passes in the case of bluffs or hills), creating natural chock points.  Defensive works would also be nice, such as trenches, bullworks, and breastworks (for tanks to hide hull-down behind).  Finally, add more roads, such that vehicles travel faster when on them then they can when the go off-road.

As with the road movement bonus, it's a damn fine idea.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Rivers, etc. are already available to map makers but they haven't been perfected yet. As soon as they are, you'll probably see them on new terrains.

I like this.  I would also like to see targets like dams that can be destroyed and used to take out towns and factories.

15 min might be a bit excessive...but how bout 5 min... even that small amout of time would be worth its weight in bombs!

Sounds like a great idea.  If we had rivers, we could have a gv with bridging equipment or pontoons for crossing it.  Would be similar to resupplies.  You could get perks for each vehicle that crosses over your bridging equipment/pontoons
Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time

 I thought Social Security numbers were like 8 numbers long?

Anyway, it would be great fun to have a few more targets (e.g. bridges) so I could put the 75mm on my B-25 to good use   :aok

Dams are a good idea, then they can also bring the Grand Slam bomb  :)

And why in the world would you use the Grand Slam bomb?  To bomb dams?  I think not.... I have to disagree with the inclusion of dams and that bomb.   Still for the inclusion of bridges though!

And think!  PT battles on Rivers....that will make some of those Vietnam-era-whiners happy.
