Well remember I deal with people in a trailer watching TV and making coffee and such. It would be kinda hard to put 2 6v batteries in your vehicle.

Thanks for the post on the Milesmarker. Have you any information about Rand? are they cheapies? Reliable?

I had a Warn winch on my 1976 scout, it did the job..

Just make sure you get two Optimas at the minimum. you can also go with the 6V as MT suggested which may not be a bad option.

Warn's a good winches, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying you do NOT have to spend $1,000 for a Warn. The $600-$700 MileMarkers will be JUST AS good as the Warn.

This gives you $300 to get your batteries, or put the money in your Bank.

The jeep forums I post to most people won't touch a MM electric, but the hydro has a big following.

Warn is good but WAY overpriced.

I am going to go with a MM hydrolic when I do it.

I can't stand the looks of it Rip but Grats anyway, it cooler then a Beemer.

If I was going electric I would go Superwinch EPI 9000.

That's interesting because with the robot project Im doing, I have a circuitboard that does much like Rip's FJ does....when the battery reaches a low level, it kicks off. In the case of the robot, I have to figure out some way of powering an AC device (LCD screen). I was wondering if one 12v battery would work ok, or if I should have dual 12v's, etc

Never thought about 6v. Thanks for that
