fellow cartoon pilots.

I just recentlly started filming my sorties, and am stating to get into movie/picture making.

I read this:

if you film your flight u could then go to the ah movie viewer watch the film stop it at a place you like then take a screen view.

in another post and tried it, but I must be doing it wrong cause I cant get any screenshot from my films.

Could someone please explain to this film tard/noob how to get a screenshot from a film

Thanks in Advance

first off, if you're looking for good screenies, it's much better to take them from film viewer. when you do however, make sure that you set field of view zoom properly to minimise fisheyeing.

there is a bar to the right of the view window called FOV zoom that controls this. i usually take all my pictures with maximum FOV (bar set to the right). to turn on the fov zoom you need to press z key :)

anyway, about taking shots. get your shot set up, pause on the bit you like, set your views as you like. THEN, press the full screen button on the right of the viewer. adjust the full screen view so that you have you shot set up just as you like. then make sure that you move your mouse cursor out of the way (drag it off the screen) and hit the print screen button.

then fire up your editing software and paste the image, and save ;)

hope that helps :aok

Now, not only can I start enjoying the game on a new level, but it gives me great reason to fly-n-film more.( the g/f loved your work and asked me to learn how to do it)

Thanks again.

is it possible to get some sort of offset to the target plane (ie. free camera target)?

You have to paste it (ctrl+V) into paint or something and save it.

I apologize for bringing this one back to life also but I am having difficulties.

When I hit the print screen button nothing happens? Should it? I can't paste the image to Paint.

Try holding the button down for about 3 seconds. Then instead of pressing Ctrl + V go to Edit>Paste. If the option "Paste" is not available, then your "Prt Scr" button isn't working.
