It's Been A Long 4 Months
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:17:11 PM »
Well boys and girls I am back from my arduous 4 month long trip tracking the Ammotragus Lervia which has been terrorizing villagers and natives in the mountains of North Africa for many years.

You see once the Ammotragus Lervia has tasted human blood it literally will feed on nothing else.  I remember my first day in the foothills, I met a little girl named Nambia.  She told me a disturbing story about her father.  You see the Ammotragus Lervia  uses it's guiles to attract the male villagers and once they are under it's evil spell it lures them away where it can unleash it's most horrific attack.  Her father fell pray to the awful Ammotragus Lervia.  It is a story so hideous I would surely be PNGd for telling it here so I will spare you all.

For now I am thankful to be back amongst friends and glad the whole ordeal is over.  Even tho the experience is over I still feel plagued by the horrible memories.  We set out with a crew of 15 and only 4 of us made it back alive.  I can still hear the taunting cries and cat calls of the horrific beast in my head.  I don't know why I was spared.  It took all of my will not to succumb.  I drew on the few tours our squad spent flying for the  Bish.  Just the thought of how the Bish would chase after the Ovis aries of AH, with lust in their eyes, would curdle my blood.  I think it is the main reason HTC got rid of them.  But maybe, just maybe, my friends those horrible memories are what got me through, what saved me from the evil enticing of the Ammotragus Lervia which doomed the weaker men...

But it is good to be back in the safety of friends.  I still can't wear wool, even the thought of it turns my stomach, but someday that too will pass...  someday... someday...

4 months to shoot a sheep? What's up with that?

Welcome home though..wondered where you went.

It's a running joke, that has apparently been going for almost a decade, and has been carried (like an infection, now that I think about it) from one online Sim to another.

For a while, HT even gave a "tilt of the cap" to the joke -- in AH1, when you flew really low, you could see herds of sheep instead of just trees and bushes.

It has been going on for longer than a decade.  It was a joke back in January 90 when I first started AirWarrior.  It was the Clanders who first domesticated the sheep.

Ammotragus Lervia

Distribution in Texas. Native to the dry mountainous areas of northern Africa; introduced into the Palo Duro Canyon area of Texas in 1957-58, where it has become firmly established. Also present in the Edwards Plateau, Trans-Pecos, South Texas, Rolling Plains, and Post Oak Savannah regions as a result of private introductions.
