Shuttle Systems
« on: February 02, 2007, 09:17:32 PM »
Has anyone else tried a Shuttle PC yet? I just upgraded to a new Core2Duo setup and decided to spend some $$$ on the vid card too. I ended up with the following:

Shuttle SD37P2 case/motherboard/powersupply
EVGA 88000GTS-R
2 Gig DDR2/566 memory
HP 940i DVD writer
WD 500gig S2 ATA RD HD

I re-used everything else.

This is the second Shuttle PC I've built. My last was a P4-3.2GHz, Radeon 800X vid card setup that has done me well for the last couple of years. The only knock on my old Shuttle was that it was a bit noisy. The new one (with the Conroe) is virtually silent with the only noise coming from the HD and DvD. The only real knocks on the new system is that it only supports up to DDR 566 memory and it doesn't have any media card readers built in (old one did). It's easy to build and takes up very little space.
