Realtek HD Audio
« on: February 05, 2007, 11:54:43 AM »
Hi, all. I mentioned some time ago here I can hear people on vox but my microphone won't work so I can't talk, despite it working before on this computer. I can't remember what changes I might have made. I've had no luck with any of the suggestions that have been given.

I know the mic works because I can hear myself thru the speakers when I speak into the mic so I'm sure I have it configured wrong. What confuses the issue is this Alienware computer is equipped with Realtech HD audio. This program, among other things, alerts you when u plug the wrong peripheral into the wrong jack so I'm 99% sure the mic is in the right jack.

So here's the question: Anyone else have Realtech HD on their computer? If so, could you let me know what your default settings are for the following:

In the Sound And Audio Devices file of your Control Panel:

Default Device for both Sound Playback and Sound Recording

Default Device for Voice Playback and Voice Recording

Hopefully if someone has Reatech HD and their vox works, if I set mine up the same way it should work?

Thanks in advance for any help.
