Until then, it is all pretty much relative to where I was last month as oppposed to this month. If you are one of the few that are at the top of the list, as it were, then you perhaps could be helping us less fortunate pilots improve our game? Would seem justifiable. Then that would increase the selection of matched opponents to your considerable skills.
I'm sure someday, if I keep practicing, I might even see my name somewhere on that Top Listing. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I'm in competition with myself, and only myself. But that is My game, is'nt it?      :aok

Wow. Brings back memories....I made almost this EXACT same post not quite three years ago.

I've since found that there ARE excellent pilots who will give their time and teaching skill to bring newer players along. you can get as good as you're willing to work towards!

Not every great pilot is a good teacher, though -- that's another art all on its own. With great respect I can wholeheartedly recommend the Training Corps as the best way to systematically improve your skills. Best way I've found is to schedule one on one sessions by emailing them at trainers@flyaceshigh.com. Learn a batch of stuff, then practice it in the skies of AH land....rinse and repeat.

I have almost no instinctual, natural skills in AH or sim games -- I'm here because I grew up loving history and ww2 aviation. Even so, my game has imporved to the point that I'm not a bad combat pilot at all, and I keep improving a little at a time thanks to the sessions I set up now and again with trainers like Widewing, Hammer, Badboy, TC, Nomak, and others I've embarassed myself by not remembering!

There's nothing wrong with having fun where you're at. But if you want to imrove your skill, I can't recommend it enough.

AH is a different game when you're smiling.

Eh...Just last night I got a "Nice HO Schmuckey" from you didn't I?

Regardless...This is just a GAME. Anyone that has a low score is playing to do so. I tried it for a few months and found it to be easy as hell to get a low score. It's also boring as hell..... Play however you want to play and screw everybody else that tries to MAKE you play the way they want to.

It's the ones that seem to think it takes some sort of "skill" to play this game that crack me up.:rofl :rofl :rofl

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Simaril. And I'm doing exactly that. Seems sometimes I'm spending more time in the TA than in the MA. But I figgure it's time well spent in the long run. I've been working with a lot of Trainers and they all have their methods and techniques, so I'm sure to get a well rounded education. :aok  Also, I know this isn't going to be an overnight event. So when I see the score page change for me I can judge if I'm working hard enough or not catching on fast enough. Does'nt effect me or my ego unless I'm not putting enough effort into it in the first place. :D

Why are they responsible for helping Deack?  Isn't it their $15.00?

Same for pickers really.... you are basically saying you want them to play your way, not their way.
If you want to be honest, blame your SA failures rather than the pickers.  It's not the "pickers" fault you presented them with a target.

You'd be surprised how much fun it is that way :)

Hehe Buckster, I was pulling your chain! I'd thought the 20 second thrashing I gave you in the DA in your choice of plane would still be as fresh in you mind as it was in mine.

And I was smiling.

What takes away from the game, for me, are selfish people who expect others to die destroying ack-ack.

My point on the ack is people linger there waiting knowing that when someone dives in the ack is focused on them yet they make no follow through. But when the person deacking has to ditch or dies by the time he or she gets back that person who didnt help is vulching compliments of someone else effort to land 5+ and get the wtg yet the people who made that happen for the vulcher were the deackers.

Ive also noticed that alot of these same people tend to not check 6 and use others as bait. Ive checked my 6 many a times and saw that sneaky 190 or 51 on me with 1-3 fellow nits on him. Its nice having a 6 cleared but the heads up would greatly help.

My point is team effort. Yes it is your 15 bucks and anyone can play anyway they see fit. This topic is always gonna be a 50/50 deal and basically a dead horse and I think if ack was worth more per the risk alot more people would dive in on it than the select few who do.

Its not selfish to ask for team play. The toes you step on today might be attached to the prettythang you kiss 2morrow ya know. So its always good rule to help your team, country and fellow wing.

I feel for my fellow Stompers some nights when I really get rolling on this issue on squad lol.

It's simply not other's responsibility that you choose to deack a base. I understand your point in that, ideally, everyone functions as a cohesive unit to atttain a certain goal. i.e. deacking a base in order to take it.  The problem with this is that the game has many different goal options and others will have different things in  mind than what you do.
OTOH, if you are in a mission w/ a specific goal in mind, let's say taking the base, and those assigned to help you deack simply watch you do it, I can agree this would be aggravating.

As for not getting check 6's.... by now you know the only person who is responsible for your 6 is you. I will only say that, as a rook, I have no shortage of check 6's.  I can't say what it is like on the nits side beyond the couple of hours I spent as a nit last tour. My experience there made me glad to be a rook, that's all I'm going to say about it.
